If it went it's own way, never using a character or element from the game I would be fine. But once it uses important facets of the game it interupts canon I feel.

So when does it interrupt the game canon? Please tell me when the story of the games were influenced by the movies because of the fact that game characters were used in the movies.

Remember the first movie? People were bitching because it had no game characters. So he gave fans game characters. You just can never be satisfied.

I would say that the influence of the movies success has been a negative on the games, although the movies certainly aren't the sole fault. But the lazer beams, the shift to a more action style rather than horror, the super ninja actions of Leon...I personally suspect the movies may have had some influence on those choices.

And personally, it's not the inclusion of canon elements that annoys me, although I never especially wanted to see them. It's the taking canon elements and then warping them in some horrible way, usually to make Alice look better. See - Jill and Nemesis to Alice and Nemesis, Alice having more or relationship with both Chris and Claire than they do with each other, Wesker's obsession with Alice...etc.

I think she has garnered herself an unfortunate reputation with the movies she has been in. Dare I say she might even be typecast now. That said, I enjoyed The Fifth Element and I thought she was somewhat palatable in that. Not that she had to do much acting.

She was better in Joan of Arc. I think she was good at portraying the controversial perception of the Saint, a young girl wanting to lead France to victory and out of supression of the English, but who realises at the end it was never about messages from God but her anger and lust for revenge at the English for killing her sister, all the death and violence she has caused by the war and accidentally forsakes God by declaring her visions of Him as false, but not knowingly, because she can't read. Then she burns to death a very sad lady. I think she was a lot better in this film and that's partly why I respect her more in the RE films.

I also want to slap some sense into these people who absurdly wish death upon someone they've never even met and whom genuinely seems like a nice person. If you can want someone you don't know dead, you must be a very violent person and if you have such little value for someone's life, perhaps you don't belong in civilized society.

She can act, but her parts in RE don't really require her to. Especially the more recent entries to the movies. They're successful however, and I'd imagine she gets paid a lot for doing it. Who cares? If I was her, I wouldn't. Wouldn't be my job to care about some annoyed elitist fans to a game series that has ALREADY completely shifted from survival horror with a decent story to an action horror series with a crap story.

Remember this: Milla didn't put backflips and lasers and a stupid story into the GAMES. Capcom did. Direct your rage at them. I do. First RE has been ruined (although I do enjoy RE4 what it is and it's a fab game, I thought RE5 was a bit poo), but what put the icing on the cake for me was this.

Game-to-movie transitions have always been a quick cash-in. It's all about marketing, that's probably the most crucial aspect of filmmaking these days. You can churn out any old drivel but if you can sell it to the public, they'll pay to see it in droves. On the other hand, you can craft a masterpiece but if isn't out there enough then it's simply relegated to cult status.

I assumed that these users were kids of the 8 to 13 year old kind. Thus why it might've seemed so logical to THEM to make such comments and expect ppl to just laugh it off.

How many people can say they're honestly a fan of the series anymore?

I'm very much a fan of what the series was myself, I loved RE4 but after that everything just fell apart. I call this 'Walt Disney Syndrome'.

Once the creator in question leaves(in one way or another) the studio itself does whatever it thinks will make money and go for 'A new audience'.

Then: Walt Disney corporation was the first Hollywood company that focused solely on animated features.

Now: The Walt Disney Corporation is focused on turning 15 year old kids into bubblegum stars for 14 year olds and pedophiles to ogle at.

I agree, in an ideal world, I believe "franchises" should stick to their domain of expertise. I think what mostly happens is successful stuff tends to get taken over by people who only care about it's popularity and don't give a **** about the franchise itself. Hence my beloved Battleship game's canon and lore will get ***** over by Hollywood.

I dont like Milla as an actress you can say all you want about Joan of Arc but one movie doesnt make a a good actress at least not in my book.
What I do hate is his hypocrisy the constant contradictions she says. Fore example lately here in Argentina Universal Channel is constantly airing a little show in his commercial breaks about videogames movies where they mention the RE movies and she says "yeah the movies are EXACTLY like the game"...

and yeah i know this maybe is the typical actor thing "i say anything to sell the movie" but well this bother me because that kind of things(interviews and stuff) always appears on RE sites where i am.

Besides if you a rich and famous(or something like that) i think that some internet hate is a very low price
