  • Resident Evil 5 Movie Announced, Details Surface

Sony Pictures have not only confirmed the existence of the next Resident Evil movie, but they have scheduled a Sept. 14, 2012 release too. The movie is currently identified as simply "Resident Evil 5" at the moment, and will be shot in 3D as well.

Too much of this garbage too fast...

The last movie was an utter mess, at the least the first 2 where enjoyable if you ignored the Resident Evil part (stupid but kind of fun). And 3 was meh.

My mom loves the films, but Afterlife left her scratching her head and she figured it was something to do with the games.

Well if everyone who was involved with the previous four is NOT involved this has a chance of scraping up to mediocre or beyond but I bet the usual monkies are involved. . .

The last film made around 300 million worldwide. This means that it is unlikely that Sony will mess with the "winning formula" too much. No reboot and no replacing Milla is in order, I think.

I didn't see the last two. So, this is another one I'm going to avoid as well. If things remain practically the same. Let the sheepheads devour it.

              Awesome, this makes me happy.

As long as they have more a brother-sister connection between Chris and Claire, this'll be awesome. *goes to watch the four movies on Blu-Ray*

How could they stop making them after gaining US$300+ millions with the last one? They'd be stupid not to continue. At least I hope this one is better produced, Afterlife looked a bit cheap IMO.

Same here. I will not watch any live action Resident Evil movie as long as it's made by PWS Anderson and/or stars Milla.

I can't understand how he did such a great job directing Mortal Kombat (First movie is one of the best game to film adaptations), scare the shit out of me with Event Horizon and FAIL so misserably with RE movies.

Yeah Mortal Kombat was a great game to film Adaptation.I guess he forgot how to be a director, and a producer for that matter.
