  • Casting Update for Silent Hill: Revelations

Bloody Disgusting has confirmed that Sean Bean along with other familiar faces are signed on to return for Silent Hill: Revelations.

Radha Mitchell (The Crazies, Rogue) and Deborah Kara Unger (Shake Hands with the Devil, 88 Minutes) also will return to join the previously announced Adelaide Clemens (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Vampire, Mad Max: Fury Road) and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones).

Filming in Toronto, Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on a screenplay by director Michael Bassett (Solomon Kane, Deathwatch), who is joined by incredible cinematographer Maxime Alexandre (The Crazies, Mirrors, The Hills Have Eyes), production designer Alicia Keywan (The Haunting in Connecticut, Messengers), costume designer Wendy Partridge (Silent Hill, Hellboy, Underworld) and edited by Michele Conroy (Vincenzo Natali’s Splice).

Edit - Looks like Vogue_Dirge beat me to this yesterday in the Silent Hill forum.

Wonder how they'll bridge the two movies. The first movie doesn't exactly end in such a way that it'd lead directly up to the description of the plot description for the second, now does it?

                According to Basset:

...the plot (is) secret for now, but it's going to be a sequel to the first film whilst trying to remain true to the plot of game 3, and will also work as a stand-alone movie for people who don't know the series
There is a new article that points that out. It also says:

"The sequel stars Clemens as Konami video game character Heather Mason, who has been on the run with her father for years, but when he disappears, Heather learns that she is not who she thinks she is. Added cinematographer Maxime Alexandre (The Crazies): "Devotees will finally be able to enter this realm along side of Heather, [Father] Vincent, Harry [Mason] and Rose and experience the psychological horror and the fear of the unknown with them."

Read - we're making it one giant clusterfuck in an attempt to make everyone happy. That's got me worried.

Should be worth watching alone at least to see how they will do this.

Sean Bean does make everything better. He was also in a really cool Silent Hill-esque movie called the Dark which was pretty cool.

Well, as long as Sean Bean's character actually serves a freakin' purpose then his role will be all the better. This guy put it best

awesome, gets better. was always going to see it, as loved SH3. And also really liked the first film, so hopefully this works well and isnt as suggested (and fear it will be) too many things going on at once.

I'm really curious as to who would play Harry Mason, now...

I was always excited for this, but now I'm even more so.
