In the Resident Evil universe where we've seen bio-organic weapons, zombies, all kinds of crazy fucking tentacle monsters, a laser hallway, the Hammer of Dawn, clones and all kinds of other crazy shit...why are people making such a big deal out of stealth camouflage? Resident Evil is a fantasy world just like all video games. Get over it.

As for me it was a nice trailer, brought a lot of memories back, mostly good one. Who would've thought that RE would live so long)))
And was that just me, or it was Racoon City with one "C", now we have Raccoon City"Barry never vanished from the series. It was the series that vanished from Barry. He's inside all of us. " (C) Smiley

Some people are less willing to accept messing with realism than others in this kinda game. I know a few people called Bullshit on the Linear Launcher, Wesker's Super Virus, etc. I'm OK with the idea of stealth cammo myself - Umbrella keeps showing they've developed wierd and unusual shit, so it's not a huge stretch. My main issue is right now it's pretty much ripped off wholesale from MGS, at least in how it visual style.Last edited by Darkmoon; 04-06-2011, 02:19 AM.

It has to do with compressing money into small enough nuggests to power the spells.

I'm still confused as to why they are using the old footage from Revelations in the trailer since they have redesigned Jill and Chris's costumes recently...
Unless this means they are going back to the old designs? Probably not just thinking that they would want to show them updated so as not to mislead people.
Or maybe I'm overthinkling things and its the only available footage that they thought was presentable.

Not at all. It's simply with the exception of a blue energy line when active, it looks almost identical to how MGS did there stealth stuff. If they can implement it somewhat differently I'll be fine with it. At the moment, though, it just feels like this game is someone's list of 'what stuff from other games was totally awesome' and MGS happened to be in there.

I don't have any objections to the stealth camo, but I do wonder what possible applications it could have when zombies can detect you via scent. If you were fighting human opponents then sure there would be a legitimate reason. Maybe it'll be useful for any human enemies we may encounter, e.g. Leon S. Kennedy. I also wonder if it'll be effective against a tyrant, like Mr. X.
Which leads me to my next point, what about Spectre? The team's resident sniper and recon specialist? Again, what use would a sniper be against zombies? Sure you had Arnold in Outbreak File #2 but he was just fucking around and picking off the occasional zombie, I fail to see the practical applications for a sniper in a zombie outbreak scenario.
So far the only two characters that would be useful are Beltway and Bertha, the latter because she's a medic and we all need a medic on our team, and those saw blades would be useful in dismemberment, decapitation, etc, all that good stuff. Beltway looks like he'll have the almighty shotgun, a staple in any outbreak.See you in hell.

I'm just happy a real multiplayer RE title is releasing(Bar the outbreaks, which were ahead of their time). We should put together some THIA teams when it's released. It's a win/win situation for me because I would buy it even if it sucks just to put on the shelf, BUT the simple fact of finally returning to Raccoon City has already won me over. Hell I'd do private matches by myself just to look around at the scenery.
Home sweet home"One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."
Resident Evil/Castlevania/ Silent Hill/Onimusha/Tekken /Dark Souls
