Emphasis on the "USA" part, since the parent company's tech R&D heads have stated that they didn't consider UE3 due to the lack of support from Epic in Japan. RE5 is still based on their proprietery Framework engine, and will remain so obviously. It is a bit odd that the US division decided to go with UE3 when an in-house developed multiplatform engine exists (particularly that they're going to be paying Epic licensing fees).
With the likes of Square Enix licensing UE3, I don't think it's farfetched to say that Capcom Japan might end up using the engine for future titles as well.
