In fairness, the AI may be more helpful that Sheva. It's almost got to be. Slant Six probably had AI partners in there SOCOM games, so someone whose played those can tell us how much use they were.

So much fail in this thread, and we're only on the first page.

You'd be better off comparing the AI in this game(a game we haven't seen in action yet, yet most people are having a great time shitting all over it for some reason) to the SOCOM Fireteam Bravo games on PSP that Slant Six developed. SOCOM games have always put you in control of a four-man squad, and the AI wasn't really an issue, mainly because you could command them on where to go and what to do -- hold fire, breach and flash, breach and clear, etc(not just "GO!" and "Wait!" like in RE5) -- so it'll be interesting to see what the squad controls are like.

This won't be an issue for me, however, just like Sheva's AI in RE5 wasn't an issue, because I already have people who I'll be playing with. It's a multiplayer game, it's built as a multiplayer game and I have no plans on playing it solo.

LOL, okay, bye bye then. Way to judge a game as a failure off of a teaser and a short gameplay trailer. Are you guys the same people who judge Revelations as a success because "OMG SHADOWS IN HALLWAYZ, HORROR IS BACK" based off of a few teasers? Jesus Christ, man. Give it a chance. Or don't, I couldn't care less, I just think it's funny to see all these lame reactions.

Not sure why you're taking such offense at this, but I haven't written it off completely. I just won't be following it as religiously as I might, and have in the past, other Resident Evil titles.

Besides, there are already too many stellar-looking games coming out between now and the time Operation Raccoon City releases for me to really care about it.

I'm actually with my fellow U.S.S Delta Team member on this one, it seems as though people are going out of their way to dislike this game. The moment it was announced, not one person gave it a chance and instantly wrote it off as being some cash-in bollocks. Sure, I've had my skepticism towards Slant Six, but the latest trailer has convinced me that they know what they're doing.

It just seems as though everyone wants to hate this game and presumably they want it to fail too.

Give it a chance, that's all I'm going to say. It's all I'm going to do.

Agree with every word of that mate. The stench of people wading in to slate the game is disgusting, almost makes it easy to forget it's only a videogame!

                Day one purchase.

I'm not taking offense, I'm just amazed at how quickly people are writing it off. I've never seen people give up on a RE game so fast, especially on this site. I'm not sure why, unless people are somehow CONVINCED that the all-seeing, all-knowing valentine'sdead? got his hands on an early build and KNOWS that the AI is terrible...or if we have a lot of people who dislike multiplayer games.

Odds are, though, if you don't like multiplayer games, then this shouldn't even be on your radar anyway.

Christ, you've just raised a theory. What if this hate towards the game is because of the fact that it, in the eyes of the fanboys at least, "should have been Outbreak File #3"? Imagine that, every game released in the series that isn't Outbreak will be shunned for that very reason.

I'm in no way judging the entire game off a trailer. I really don't care for multiplayer games to begin with, so this game has to do something special to gain my intrigue. I'm willing to give it a shot, despite not liking online games, if something intrigues me about it. But so far, nothing really has. But who knows? Maybe some new info will spark my interest again! (The mention of a Rockfort level is still buzzing in my mind, as well as the possibility of maiming Claire.)

I didn't care for Sheva's A.I in RE5, it wasn't horrendous, but it wasn't amazing either. And I'd definitely take your word on Slant Six's use of A.I. If you say it's better than CAPCOM's; I believe ya! But still, I just don't like dealing with A.I to begin with.

As for Revelations. It's true that the game interests me more because it looks more horror-oriented than action. But knowing CAPCOM, I'm sure they will destroy my hopes with that sooner or later. I'm in no way claiming Revelations is a "success". (In fact, I doubt it will be. I have very little faith with CAPCOM. I'm bitter.) Anyway, I was just voicing my opinion on the game thus far.. And to all those looking forward to this game, those who enjoy online games like this, I really, sincerely hope it comes out well for you!

(Oh! Best of luck with the playoffs tonight. Rooting for the NY Rangers, I would imagine? ..)

It's true I'm not big into multiplayer, but this is a Resident Evil title, so for that alone, it's going to show up on my radar. However, I have yet to see a single thing about this title that genuinely interests me.

I'm not saying it's going to be terrible when it's released. I would love to be pleasantly surprised, I really would. I do, however, think Capcom, in their eagerness to drum up hype for the game, showed it off too early. Even Kawata himself said they released the information and footage sooner than they normally would, because they wanted to get people talking.

And they have. It's the same situation with DmC, except DmC was more of a proof-of-concept trailer, not actual in-game, playable footage as we have already seen with ORC.

Believe me, if this was Outbreak File #3, I would have written it off even sooner.

I'm going to the Yankee game so I won't be able to watch, but I'll be keeping up with the score on my phone.

I can already hear them scratching and clawing at my door, their pale eyes staring mournfully at what could have been. Their desire for Outbreak is a thirst that shall never be quenched, an unending need that will forever go unfulfilled.
