    Pretty much my opinion . . .

This needed a "take on hordes of infected enemies as your favourite Resident Evil characters in the palm of your hand, in 3D!" kinda ad . . .

She doesn't really look like me other than a similar haircut. I have a longer, oblong face.

Ironically I actually am. In fact I used Capcom Euro's promotions of RE and REZero in Europe as a case study when I was learning Advertising and Graphic Design back in 2004 because they were high concept (like this is) against the harsh level of comment by people in the know, and to see if it would work on people with or without info on videogames.

Your comment Kylie is correct as far as I established but it doesn't work. I can tell you in that case study I did with it, I did a random poll of people on the street for part of my final results. Their earlier promotions only worked if people knew the game series "Resident Evil", if they didn't know the brand then the promotions fell flat because they're silly or abstract.

^ That's not a good thing for the style of promotion.

The Remake one was kinda akin to the RE5 "fear" one, in fact both games were.... but it was cheese and relied heavily on a fake website which looked like something that sells stuff on infomercials. It was focused on the fact that Adults get scared, and was at the address - http://www.adultsgetscaredtoo.com/

Here is a web archive link in case people want to see what I mean - http://replay.web.archive.org/200211...scaredtoo.com/

They went for two different tangents for Zero, most remember it for the "baby" commercial and similar themed print ad. Basically a promotion that asked if you knew that this child (a less than one year old baby) was going to become a future Hitler essentially would you feel justified in killing it? Weird fucking angle for sure.

The other one was another weird website which was about shitting yourself because Zero was so scary under the guise of a stain removal organization called Zero Dirt (found at zerodirt.co.uk)

Again here is a web archive version:

Along that line as well, with "scared" people playing in England a special phone line was setup to help people; actual quote here from 2002:

Capcom, sensitive, sharing souls that they are, have launched a special UK telephone helpline for those terrified by upcoming survival horror prequel, Resident Evil Zero.

The helpline offers comfort and reassurance to those unable to distinguish fantasy from reality, for the price of a national phone call. So if you're trembling in your boots already, you can call 08700 46 55 20, and have a nice lady soothe you.

"It's our duty to look after our consumers properly," said Ben Le Rougetel, Capcom spokesperson. "Resident Evil Zero is a ridiculously scary game. We want players to know help is at hand if they become too frightened. The phone line's message is simple: it's important to realise that this is just a game. Fear is all the mind, and that's what we want our players to remember."
Incidentally my other project that year, 2004, was also videogame related and focused on the style of advertising that Acclaim used in the late 90's and early 2000's which had caused the studio's demise during that year. Unlike Capcom's, theirs were fairly clear in concept but they were just dumb. Like naming your kid Turok, or getting off a speeding ticket the day Burnout 2 came out in the UK, porn in a BMX game, or having Shadowman sponsor a dead loved ones grave stone, etc.

When you think about this sort of stuff and the previous stuff Capcom did back then, this video seems relatively tame, kinda funny, and at least in the right mindset by comparison. But I still don't think it'll get people who have no idea what the game is to buy it.

Instead I would love to see the guys who thought this one doing something for Mercs 3D.

That's how you promote a game.
that trailer was sick, wondering why I have never seen it before. Loved how you kept getting hit and it would reduce your screen size lol.

This new trailer was pretty funny. I found it to be comical and entertaining. People need to quit being so uptight and pessimist all the time. Learn to chill and enjoy stuff.

I can't wait for them to show more of ORC and Revelations, two RE games that I actually have an interest in. With our luck we'll wind up waiting until E3, but hopefully it will be sooner.
