I don't think zombies are ever actually called "undead" in the series, since that is usually attributed to zombie movies where the cause of zombification is paranormal. The only notable differentiation between them and other monsters is that they tend to have much lower brain functions as a result of the t-virus rotting away everything else. They're alive, just fucked.

I don't doubt zombies being in the game in general (they're shown in the first trailer), I just don't think that scene shows them, especially if you compare the vial in that scene to the vial in the previous trailer. It's t-Abyss.
