Just a quick, albeit a day late, reminder that Silent Hill 2 celebrated it's tenth anniversary yesterday. That's right folks, ten years of wearing the video game narrative crown untouched. I encourage you all to break out your copies and soak yourselves in the dark, dense and depressing atmospheres of "that town" once again.

Awesome. My second favorite game of all time! I just might play it again. I usually end up playing it once a year, during October anyway.

It's just an HD re-release, albeit with new voice acting, which somehow manages to be even worse than the original version's.

10 years already?!?!? Damn time flies! Great game but I just don't have the ambition to play it again. It's just such a long game and has many endings. As a tribute I may jsut rip open my brand new copy of Silent Hill for the PSOne and play that (well maybe not).

Wait it's also been 15 years since Biohazard has come out...... I feel old now. I remember when I was little and when I first played my first BH game..

At this point, it's very unlikely that they will go back to original voice actors. They already recorded, and paid for, and advertised, the new ones. It wouldn't make business sense for them to to an about-face now.

Wearing the video game "narrative crown" is debatable... the MGS series comes to mind, but it was a great story. Something they haven't been able to match since in that series.

I would say that Shattered Memories' concept and execution were pretty unique and interesting though.

Max Payne or Torment takes the cake for narrative crown, in my opinion. Even if Silent Hill 2 has one of the most memorable characters in gaming, and a damn fine game and the best Silent Hill title. You be thinking with a bias mind ;)
