Silent Hill 2 Tenth Anniversary

Since we're talking about narrative in videogames, I would like to mention Grim Fandango and the Kyle Hyde games (Hotel Dusk & Last Window) as my favorites.

the most recent copy of Silent Hill 2 for the PS2 was purchased pre-played at Gamestop, and unfortunately there was damage that caused the cutscenes to skip horrendously.. not the first time i've had skip/freezing problems with a Silent Hill 2 disk, either.. needless to say i was disappointed, especially since by the time I got around to making this discovery, it was too late to return it..

but this thread got my mouth watering once again.. and led to me spending the greater part of last night getting a PC version of the game properly installed and working.. took me nearly 6 hours to get everything in order, including acquiring a program that would emulate a disk drive, and allow me to mount the games images, for the game to read..

i'm pleased to say it's now running.. and the best thing about it is that this is the director's cut, so i can now, for the first time, play Maria's scenario, "Born From A Wish"..
