I still wouldnt call it closure so much as I'd call it a 'rushed ending'. I know that they planned on offing Wesker from the start of RE5 and all, but it still felt rushed, unsatisfying and really painful to watch as it was so outright silly.

Like I've said b4... as long as we continue to pay $$$ for whatever hackjob Capcom releases with the RE brand stamped on it, they'll keep producing them non-stop.
I have read many users agreeing that the Revival Selection was a lousy effort. This compared to what Konami and Sony have done when porting relatively old games to HD consoles. Yet most of them cannot wait to hand Capcom their money. Cuz "c'mon, its Resident Evil". They have the Gotta catch them all! collector's mentality.
Capcom doesn't mind that we moan and bitch as long as we surrender the green... or fork over the ca$h.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

There are two eras of Resident Evil...from RE1 up until C:VX/Remake, and then RE4 and onward, including games like Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles. As gaming has changed, so has Resident Evil. Thanks to the inception of the Nintendo Wii, we've seen the industry steer toward casuals, and Capcom is as big a culprit as any when it comes to this.
It's tough to say which 'genre' is preferred, because 'survival horror' to me is RE1, RE2, RE3, i.e. not a ton of ammo and a sense of feeling alone. The games were never scary. RE4, RE5 etc. are 'survival action' because you get a shit-ton of big guns and ammo and the gameplay has become multiplayer with RE5 and the Chronicles games as well.
It's difficult to say which is better because the new style sells more, and the old style is just that-- old. I don't see it working very well and especially not selling very well. Overall, though, I'd say that I like both. Each have their own pros and cons.
If there's a game that somehow manages to mix the best of both worlds, it could be special. RE5 didn't. Revelations looks pretty bad too. O:RC is simply an action shooter.

For what it's worth, I got to play a demo of ORC at that NYC event (summarized the Revs demo in its thread), essentially a basic run from the tanker truck explosion, through a licker-filled parking garage, to some side streets, to the gas station, culminating in an appearance by Mr. X. I didn't get to fight him, the demo ends with his grimace adorning the screen. Same shit we've seen, but I like that. They're keeping a good amount under wraps.
Suffice it to say, the game plays damn smooth. Essentially RE in the CoD standard controls with the same amount of fluidity (as opposed to RE5). Personally, I can't get enough of the look and feel of the game. It's unadulterated chaos, and yet quite easy to navigate. The game looks excellent too, I don't think any of the screenshots did it justice.
I played as Four Eyes, which will probably be a habit when the game releases. There's nothing like perching behind cover, throwing a BOW grenade in the direction of the nearest Spec Operative, and watching zombie upon zombie just gang him. Also, as they should be, the hunters are tough sons of bitches. It's a case where if you don't take out at least one, you'll get sandwiched.

Revelations on the other hand is the title that has to prove if Capcom's trying to go back to the classics. I don't expect a rebirth of classic RE cause it's not gonna happen, but at least I hope it's a decent game.

I'm looking forward to Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, but I just cannot stomach the character designs of the Umbrella Security Service. I can absolutely see how they'd appeal to the younger RE fans, but for me, they just are too over the top with looking like the evil bastard children of Hunk.

But I'll admit that the game does look like it will be fun. I just hope there's a lot of classic locations and replay value.Mass production? Ridiculous!
