In the books released in Japan alongside The Umbrella Chronicles, Ada said the following:

“I was born during the Vietnam war in the Cholon district of Saigon, shortly before the city fell to the Viet-cong. I was the only daughter of a very wealthy overseas Chinese family. For generations, they were landowners who owned huge estates and fruit orchards.”

However, this was in the "Demise of Raccoon City" part, where she was saying this to Leon. Since she didn't actually say this in RE2 in any form, I'm not sure if it's actually considered canon.
    Mass production? Ridiculous!

Nice find, I always thought she looked Asian-American, but thanks for shedding some light on this.

No problem. Like I said, I'm not sure of its canonicity; it took me by surprise. I'd always assumed Ada was Asian-American until I saw this. And for all we know, she could have been feeding Leon a bogus line, anyway.

I always thought Capcom wanted to keep her background a secret. It goes along with that whole mysterious, double-agent theme they seem to like for Ada. Unless I heard otherwise, I wouldn't really consider it canon...But still an interesting fact.

However, it still doesn't support her slightly non-Asian appearance (I.E. the blue-ish eyes). Perhaps one of her parents is from Europe?

Or more likely, one of her parents is American?

She looks like a great fit for Ada....and I don't think she looks 'too asian'. She looks just fine for the part.

I agree, seeing as how Ada's nationality was never canonically announced, whose to say she doesn't come straight from SEA or China?

They look like a bunch of bad cosplayers.

^ I'd actually consider that an insult to cosplayers everywhere. Even the worst of them put more time, heart and effort into their costumes than what the fuck I just saw in that picture.

Yes, because we all know off set, the outfits look just exactly like they should. Or should I mention Spider Man in the new movie with the random black crotch-stain?

Dude...stop. We all know you enjoy these films for what they are...Bad entertainment, you yourself have admitted that's what it is and we all understand that.

But dont go defending a lazy film based on lazy and bland character outfits that any dedicated cosplayer could make for less and still have a better looking final product.

Yikes. So is Ada the only character in the movies they've even come close to getting right, design-wise?..
