Forums Updated, Looking for Mods and News Posters

I've updated our boards (finally) to the latest Vbulletin version. This should provide you all with more functionality as well as giving us a more secure and spam free experience. Right now things are rather white and I'll be working on rectifying that in the coming days.

If you haven't already known, the sites scope has been diminished from our original ideas. If you want to chime in on this or just read on a bit, please post in this thread here. I'm always open to suggestions!

We are also looking for moderators and news posters for the site. We would prefer folks from the US, but its not a requirement. Anyone wishing to fill either of these positions please get in touch with me via the usual methods (PM, reply here). Don't feel disheartened if I don't respond right away, I'm not as active on the site as I once was!

There, I've changed the default to the black skin as a temporary measure. If you want the white one, just modify that setting in your user control panel. I still intend on getting the "old" THIA skin onto the new format.

Also, the forums' are doing the random sign-outs again, mainly on the forum index. When signing in from there, it comes up with an invalid page for the login (because essentially, I am still actually signed in) and some of the avatars are switching back and forth between thumbnail versions and the full versions.

That's all I've noticed for now since I saw that you corrected the time on the forums too.

Did those issues just start when we updated? Or have you been having those problems in the past as well? Ahah, yeah for some strange reason Vbulletin never got the time right unless you did some wacky hacks to it. It looks like they finally cleaned that up

The sign out issue hasn't been very common for me, really only when the forum has been down for a short period - they just aren't remaining logged in for as long as they should be. I know Smiley has this issue with THIA a decent amount, but reloading it usually fixes it for him.

The cookies are coming up for me that they expire at the end of the session, though I have two sets of the same cookies - one earlier and one later.



As for the avatar issue, this only started after the update.

I had cleared mine earlier, but when I came back the older cookies came back with the new ones so it might just be a conflict of the older cookies and the newer cookies between the before and after update versions of the forums.

I've cleared them again and this time, the older ones haven't come back so that may have simply been the issue.

And no, not the cookies overlapping. Avatars are still going between thumbnails and full-size. It's doing it on random ones and my own one, Gene's one is also coming up smaller than usual and my own one comes up around about the same size as Gene's one is normally. But half of the avatars aren't affected.

The error that comes up when attempting to login is this -
"Invalid Redirect URL (http://the-horror.com/forums/)"

Before it came up with a rather large URL which was /forums/ and a heap of random numbers, letters.

Using the "Go Advanced" button on a quick post sometimes ends up with a white error page with the following on it -
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<' in /home/thiahorror/the-horror.com/forums/includes/class_core.php on line 5713

The new look is awesome! Very sleek. Can't wait to see it modified into a more THIA stylized look! The user profiles still have a bit too much white, but it's not too big of a deal.

Like said before, I'd be happy to help with news posting. I'd just need some sort of guideline for what the site considers newsworthy.

News about some other franchises, such as Dead Rising and Silent Hill, and Capcom in general, used to be good too. Might wanna think about bringing that back...
