there is 100% no fun in playing on handheld.
it might have been back in the old days with gameboy... at the age of 10 but not anymore.
Its up to u ..... U prefer ORC Just for it being on PS3 / 360 ? i wouldnt like a game for that ..... But i wish that ORC wasnt ever made or that its for 3DS and RE:R for PS3 / 360 , Cuz ORC is Pointless actually , also whats wrong with you always saying pointless ? I was once like u but i think judging by that is wrong , Pretty sure it'll get ported once it gets good sale "Thats for sure !"
Btw im not a nintendo fan and i own nothing from them , Yet i believe they are maing a good use of the 3D especially in RE:R , however i would have prefered if the PS Vita had Normal 3D type (With glasses) to be enabled thru setting or something ..... Yet we can expect anything in an Update ....Last edited by Mrox2; 12-28-2011, 10:53 AM.Darkness : Tactical reload wasn't even in deadly silence LMAO

I admit, I'm kinda surprised that what is apparently going to be such a vitally important game, setting up what is very much going to be a console orientated Resident Evil 6, is a handheld exclusive. I really can't imagine it staying that way for too long, though - Capcom will have ported it to Microwaves by next year if they can make some cash on it.

I wish ORC was on a handheld and Revelations on the big boy consoles. I think Revelations looks to be a far superior game than ORC (although not without its flaws), but I know I will spend more time with ORC due to the whole not being on a handheld thing. ORC will also sell far more units than Revelations, since most people who own a 3DS are children who have little to no interest in things that aren't shiny and spherical. Capcom is dooming the "survival horror" aspect of this franchise to fail by limiting it to a kiddie handheld. There is some truth to what rehunk88 is saying.Last edited by Det. I don't think it'll be anywhere near as important as the game lets on. We know where the story goes after here and at the end of the day Chris and Jill will come out on top of its remains to fight another day.
Still, the game play shows a lot of promise for a hand held. Sure the marketing is off and this isn't a return to form like the classic games, but as far as what we've seen it embodies the qualities that made RE4 so much fun. And it seems to have learned from what didn't work in RE5. Controls have a natural progression to them where they "caught up" with other third person shooters out there. We have a single player campaign. Co-op isn't forced on us and is instead saved for "Raid Mode" which looks to cater to the action crowd. New enemies are always a bonus.
I'm not sure if the story as a whole will be scary in the traditional sense though. And this is something that's pretty divided in the series since there's campy RE games and more direct serious entries. They got the atmosphere down, but if the characters wise crack and joke around too much then it'll turn to another campy RE title. And that's fine if you're a fan of them. For me I hope that at least Jill and Parker takes the mission more serious than Quint, Keith, Chris or Jessica. You don't need every character to provide the comic relief is all I'm getting at.
I also feel that the importance of this game isn't on how it contributes to the RE series, but what it has to offer for the hand held market. A game people see as a console product that you can play and take with you on the go. I haven't seen much desire since Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and that was a full MGS game which eventually made its way to consoles.
The only thing I can see being a problem is that the 3DS we currently have is in need of tweaking. The battery life is very low so expecting to play revelations too much without a charge up is out of the question. Also the 3DS design has been criticized to the point where they sell a second analog peripheral attachment separately to improve the game play. Not many people care about the 3D gimmick anymore so your hand held's marketing ploy isn't as strong. All that matters are if the games will be good and I hope this one is.

However, Mercs is a style of game that works on a handheld in my opinion (although it should have been released on the home consoles with a lot more content, as well). It can be played for one to two missions (10-20 minutes) in a variety of on-the-go situations (or at home if the user desires), and has no story to "suck you into" the game. This is the opposite of Revelations, which is a game that most would agree would be better suited to a home console experience. I think I speak for most of us (who aren't 10 years old) when I say that I could care less about the 3D aspect; I find it gimmicky.

Plus the level design has been catered for the 3DS in mind. If this were developed for the XBOX or PS3 then this episodic TV series like structure would not be employed, and in the early reviews this is one of the biggest praises for the game so far.
And Smiley, Capcom themselves have stated this adventure to be the best Biohazard story so far so keep an open mind. My only criticism is I don't think it will link heavily with the established mythology and will be more of a stand alone title along the same lines as Degeneration and Dead Aim. But you never know, it has to be called Revelations for a reason...Last edited by TheBatMan; 12-28-2011, 05:34 PM."I've got 100 cows."

And another thing Smiley, I don't appreciate your superior tone and the way you strut around the forum like you've been here from 2009 and have some kind of interest in the Resident Evil series!
What with you sharing your opinions and experiences with the series like you've played it frequently and enjoyed the games, I've had enough!
...I hate your dog!

I haven't played the game, but I'm confident enough to say upfront that this will not be the best Resident Evil story thus far.
It's not because I don't have faith in the writer for this game. Rather, it's because the series has taken so many turns already (not to mention a dive so large that rumors are springing around for a reboot with RE6) that anything they turn up will seem uninspired. I have an open mind that the game will be good. But it certainly doesn't look mind blowing on any scale no matter how "epic" the trailers make it out to be.
I break this down into key points. Characters, environment, setting, plot and game play. We know where the main characters end up. We've had RE games in snowy environments, cruise liners and islands. Again I also have to stress that it's a mistake to set this game in between two well known sequels. I also believe that based on released footage there's too many 'comic relief' segments to break the tension. The game play builds upon RE4/RE5 (but catches up with other known TPS titles) so that's one benefit for third person enthusiasts.
That just leaves the plot. Jill goes in search for Chris. They both wind up with different BSAA partners and face a threat different from zombies. At some point Chris and Jill may have to turn on each other yet everything will work out for the two by the end. I know there's more to it with the supporting cast and the villain's motive, but the premise off the bat is simply a reverse RE5.
So am I acting biased or smug? I'll give you that free of charge. But there was a time where RE4 came out and everyone and their mother said it was the best game in the series. Best characters, best plot, best over all game. Some do till this day. You're talking to a guy whose favorite RE game is the gamecube remake. A game that was and wasn't entirely original. But I'll still defend that what it did bring to the table upon its release was just about perfect in any way conceivable. Each direction and step was made for the right reasons.Last edited by Smiley; 12-29-2011, 01:12 AM.
