Think the only reason i'll be buying this game is for the fps idea i've always wanted to see a charging crimson head running towards me or even see the grave digger face to face. But the acting just isn't the same.

Well I'm still going to get it, I am a bit bummed about the change of the actors as it does sound a bit off but I managed to cope when the cast changed in REBirth and so forth. I like the fact that the Outbreak areas are making a showing it helps to tie them to the series and the areas were pretty decent anyway. Anyway, I'm in for the arcade shooter in my living room with 100% accuracy and reliability. HOTD, Time Crisis even Dead Aim or Survivor all used G-con et all at some point and were not always easy to set up. With UC we've got that straight out the box and good to go all it needs now is online co-op and maybe Rankings etc and I'll be all set. Not to mention how much action it's got going on in relation to the sheer number of enemies on screen. It's like I've been saying since the beginning:

"It's an arcade shooter without the arcade release"

And I love me some arcade shooters . . .

By the way, notice, that the uhm... timer stopped at the year 2003 at the end of the trailer. So it seems that the true end of Umbrella will take place then. It somehow makes sense, because in Dead Aim* (which takes place in 2002) Umbrella is still alive, but in 2004 (RE4) all the main characters suggests, that it's dead already.

And, is it that me, or does Chris (I suppose it is Chris), when saying "No, I can't reach them" sounds a little like Raiden from MGS2 o_O.

The only thing DA screwed up is that RE4 explicitly stated Umbrella died in 1998 but DA shows that Umbrella survived past 2000...of course you can argue that only the surface of Umbrella died in 1998 but when RE5 was released there wasn't much evidence to support that.

Which is why RE UC is quite important in this aspect.

I don't really think it was a lack of imagination...I don't find just coincidental that Morpheus uses the "TG-Virus" and becomes a Tyrant with breasts and his feet magically turn into high heels. On top of that, he bitches about beauty throughout the game.

What is it with CAPCOM and transgenderism anyways? Alfred, Morpheus....hell, even young Marcus in Zero was a bit feminine (that singnig drives me fucking nuts).

I'm not sure what you mean by this. Bar RE4, pretty much all of the main series have a good deal of in depth content and originality. TG is an obvious copout, creating an additionally unneeded virus using two older viruses in a way that doesn't even make sense (you don't just make virus cocktails) and then allowing it to give people magical command of magnetic fields.

That scores pretty low on my "they thought this through" meter.

The "horrendous incident" bit is refering to his events in Raccoon City, not Umbrella's demise. Besides, Umbrella was a global powehouse of a coporation. Even if it's stock prices plumitted, all that means is that some other company would have bought it and either merged or incorporated it as it was going through a slump.

Let's assume, however, that Umbrella did go under without selling thier stuff to another company and all of the facilities and scientists working on BOW were all closed/laid off (respectively). Umbrella may have anywhere to a few hundred thousand to a few million employees world wide. Where would they all go? Especially the scientists and researchers... Without a place to go, they'd be like Russian nuclear scientists after the Cold War--selling their info and expertise to the highest bidder...

They probably were all swooped back up by one of Umbrella's "other" companies
