    Resident Evil 5 Trailer 2 in HD

    This one comes courtesy of Gamespot, though they messed up the deinterlacing so you will see some ghosting. Stay tuned for a higher quality version once the trailer is released on the Xbox 360 marketplace.

    Some notable things you can see in this version are the "leader" with the megaphone has a body guard who carries around a massive blunt object. Shades of the chainsaw ganado for sure. Also of note is the patch on Chris Redfields arm. It doesnt appear to be a STARS one! Perhaps hes with a new agency?

    I already mentioned this on Bioflames, but:

    It makes sense since STARS was disbanded circa 1998 . . . Anyone got any idea what this new badge could be?

      STARS is a national branch though, it started in Raccoon and is/was half funded by Umbrella, and half by the taxpayers of the states that the branches are in.

      STARS is probably still around, but being funded completely by taxpayers now that Umbrella is out of the public spotlight.

            Looks like "STRAT".

            The only agency with STRAT in it's full name is STRATCOM. The thing Bruce worked for in Dead Aim. Probably the one Leon worked for too, given their similar attire.

            That or probably SRAA. Due to what looks like another A at the end.

              But the Raccoon branch was disbanded wasn't it? What with being radioactive vapour come October . . .

              Besides Umbrella was hardly going to continue to fund it and if they did they'd make damn well sure Chris Redfield never got into another branch . . .

                The clearest frame of his badge is actually the half frame mix from the "screaming face" to the shot of him. You can clearly read it in that frame and it says "BSAA" - but thats all you can really tell from it.



                I don't think anyone screwed the way they encoded the file, it's been filmed off a screen (which is why there is the odd black bit at the bottom and occassional flashes of white when people have been taking photos) - but the audio feed has been given to all attending camera crews for the whole event which is why the sound is clean. It also looked to me, especially in that shot of the guy with the megaphone, that there is intentional "heat waves" distorting the image - but I guess we wont know until the trailer is directly avaliable.

                I do enjoy the July 26th thing as a self-reference to the fact it has Chris in it and there are people working on it from the original game team.

                      Maybe it's a fictional sector of the airforce?

                      If they got this running 60fps in-game, then bravo. Given how far the game is off, I wonder if this was footage from a SDK station.

                              It looks like this is definitely an "RE4 2", which is no surprise considering how well it done. I only hope the story is better.
